A shocking heist at an Oakville car dealership has left authorities scrambling and luxury car enthusiasts reeling. A brazen group of masked individuals pulled off a daring break-in, making off with a staggering $2 million worth of high-end vehicles. This incident, captured on video, shows the suspects storming the Lockwood Leasing dealership near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Fourth Line.
The security footage, obtained by CTV News Toronto, reveals the calculated nature of the crime. The group, numbering as many as eight individuals, smashed through a glass door to gain entry. Their focus quickly turned to a lockbox, which they forced open with what appears to be a crowbar. Each suspect then grabbed a key, started a vehicle, and vanished before the video ended.
The stolen vehicles included a prized Ferrari, valued at approximately $620,000, a Porsche 911 GT3, a Porsche 911 Carrera, two M4 BMWs, and two S-class 580 Mercedes. The audacity of the crime is matched only by the value of the goods taken.
But here's where it gets interesting: Police have managed to recover some of the stolen vehicles. A BMW, a Mercedes, a Porsche, and the Ferrari were all found abandoned and unoccupied within the Greater Toronto Area. This suggests the thieves may have been attempting to quickly move the cars or simply needed to ditch them.
In a recent update, investigators announced the recovery of the Porsche 911, thanks to the help of Peel Regional Police. Two men were arrested on January 12th and linked to the break-in.
The suspects, identified as 24-year-old Amin Hadj Kaddour of Mississauga and 24-year-old Joshua Twa’colagiacomo of Victoria Harbour, B.C., now face charges of break-and-enter and disguise with intent. Both have been granted bail, and they are also facing unspecified charges in Peel Region.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities still searching for the remaining vehicles and suspects. The Halton police are urging anyone with information to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.
And this is the part most people miss... The speed and precision of this theft raise questions about the level of planning and expertise involved. Were these seasoned criminals, or something else?
